"Our Veterans Deserve Better" | Yountville Veterans Home (Interview)

Our veterans deserve better. Here in Yountville, there’s an incredible veterans home — filled with people who serve served and their spouses that supported them. I sat down with residents to hear about the challenges they’re facing — from an underfunded and understaffed home, to facilities in need of repair, to a new leave policy that restricts how many days residents can leave. One veteran wrote to me, “I have never known of any place except prison or an active-duty military base where residents were told they could only leave a limited number of days.” These veterans served our country. They deserve our respect, our gratitude, and a home that treats them with the dignity and freedom they’ve earned. ABOUT ERIC JONES Eric Jones is running for Congress in California’s 4th Congressional District (CA-04) to bring a new generation of leadership to Washington. Eric grew up in a working-class family in small-town Maine. His father is a disabled veteran and immigrant, and his mother was a nurse who worked constantly while caring for Eric’s dad and raising three kids.
